NASCAR is preparing to hold its Bank of America 500 in Charlotte, which will be promoted by Walmart, who will hold events and offer authentic NASCAR merchandise to fans.
The fan events will start on October 9 and customers will be invited to enjoy driver appearances and simulator displays so they can get a sample of what it's like to be behind the wheel of an actual NASCAR vehicle.
"NASCAR fans that descend into Cabarrus County spend millions of dollars that help our local economy by generating tax revenues for local governments," said Donna Carpenter, president and CEO of the Cabarrus County Convention & Visitors Bureau. "The economic impact that visitors create trickles throughout the county, via hotels, restaurants and retail stores. In essence, the speedway is the driver, and we are the pit crew! It's a win-win for everyone."
Consumers will also be able to visit the local Walmarts to get discounts of food and snacks that are needed to enjoy the race. Consumers can also turn to online retailers for their vehicular needs including car floor mats and other accessories.
Considering it's Fall Car Care Month, motorists should be sure that they have all the necessary items needed during the winter, such as an ice scraper and broom, in addition to getting their oil changed.
