In the case of minivans, innovation isn't always what comes to mind. Safety, comfort and size for are usually what matter most to families investing in a new car. But innovation can sometimes come from surprisingly simple changes.
Honda announced that its newest model of minivan, The 2014 Odyssey, will feature a built-in vacuum cleaner, making it the first and only vehicle in its class to do so. The addition is very exciting for parents who know that owning a minivan with kids can be a mess. As a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, Honda has made several changes from its 2010 Odyssey model to make it more fuel efficient, safe and cool.
The new model is powered by a 3.5-L six-speed automatic engine with 248 horsepower and 250 ft.lbs. of torque. It gets an EPA-estimated 28 miles per gallon on the highway, making The Odyssey the most fuel-efficient car in its class. The Touring Elite Model, which features the built-in vacuum, is selling for around $45,00, but also boasts a 16-inch wide screen for movies and a chill box for keeping beverages cold.
A built-in vacuum may not be enough to keep a minivan clean, however. Husky Liners® custom fit car mats are the perfect addition to keep a new car clean and protect its value. Parents need not worry about spills with floor liners in their vehicle's interior.
