Jimmie Johnson is the leader in the Chase for the Sprint Cup and is just two races away from being crowned champion, if things continue the way they have been. Chances are Brad Keselowski and Clint Bowyer feel otherwise, who are second and third in the race, respectively.
This Sunday is the AAA Texas 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Texas Motor Speedway, the first of the last two races. The course doesn't usually come with the high amount of accidents seen at Daytona or Talladega. This is good news for Keselowski who's just two points behind and gives Bowyer a chance, although he's 26 points behind the lead.
"All I can do is worry about running well and putting ourselves in position to win races every week," Bowyer told SB Nation. "Bad luck is not something I can really wish upon the other guys in front of us or even worry about. Yes, we are going to need some help from the other guys to stay in this deal.
Bowyer added that even after winning Charlotte his team is still more than 20 points out and they're going to need some help to catch the leaders.
