Hyundai builds 1 millionth Santa FeMonday, August 5, 2013

Category:Car Enthusiast Talk

Hyundai recently announced it built its 1 millionth Santa Fe in the United States since releasing the crossover in 2000.

"When the 2001 Santa Fe launched in the United States 13 years ago, not only was it Hyundai's first SUV, but it was one of the first compact crossovers on the market – just behind Toyota RAV4 and Honda CRV," said John Krafcik, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor America. "It was a bold move that paid off and helped position Hyundai as a brand that could innovate in design and package, not just value and warranty."

Hyundai, however, couldn't beat Kia Georgia to the 1 million vehicle milestone. The automaker announced last month that it had built its 1 millionth vehicle, after rolling a 2014 Sorento SXL out of the manufacturing facility. Kia said that it was responsible for creating 11,000 jobs, and in addition, June was the 19th consecutive month in which the Optima was the best-selling vehicle in the country.

Whether you bought Hyundai's or Kia's 1 millionth or first vehicle, you will likely want to protect the value of your vehicle. One of the best ways to keep an interior safe from spills and stains is to install Husky Liners® custom fit floor mats.
