Hyundai recently announced that the Elantra has once again broken its all-time sales record, surpassing 186,361 units sold throughout 2012 with still one week remaining in the year. The automaker hopes that the car will join the Sonata as the second model to break 200,000 units sold in a year.
"Adding the third shift to our plant in Alabama this year has allowed us to better meet demand for Elantra," said John Krafcik , president and CEO, Hyundai Motor America. "Elantra buyers love its recipe of ALG-class-leading residual value, bold design, and outstanding value. With a full year of three-shift U.S. production in 2013 we hope to introduce even more American car buyers to Elantra next year."
Any new car owners should keep the exterior of their cars looking clean with HuskyLiners® car floor mats.
Earlier this month, the Elantra was recognized at the 16th annual Strategic Vision Total Value Awards. The car took first place in the small car category, while the Equus and Sonata earned first place in the luxury and medium car segment, respectively. By winning its category, the Equus beat out luxury automakers BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
The Equus also won Best Model overall and Hyundai came in second in total value.
