Audi sells its 3 millionth A3Monday, July 22, 2013

Audi recently announced that it has sold it has sold 3 million A3's in the company's 17-year history. Experts note that having sold so many compact cars is a testament to the quality of the brand.

"Three million automobiles in the compact class is quite a performance," said Dr. Frank Dreves, board of management member for production at Audi AG. "This success is backed by a strong team and an efficient production system. With the Audi A3, we have created a new brand segment – we have been setting standards in the compact class with innovative technology and first-class quality for 17 years now."

The company noted that it new Audi A3 Sportback was released this year and has already accounted for the highest proportion of this production volume with nearly 700 vehicles rolling out the assembly line each day. In addition, Audi noted that 913,000 first generation A3s were sold, followed by nearly 2 million sales of second generation A3s. After the launch of A3 Sportback, the automaker was able to top the 3 million sales mark, highlighting the persistence of this model.

KBB names 10 Best Luxury SUV's
The expert editors at Kelley Blue Book recently compiled a list of the 10 Best Luxury SUVs of 2013. According to the report, the vehicles on the list should be able to handle the terrain of a jungle while also offering the comfort of a day spa.

The top luxury SUV in 2013 was the Land Rover Range Rover.

After the Range Rover came the 2013 Mercedes-Benz GL, Porsche Cayenne, Lexus RX, Infiniti JX, Audi Q5, Acura RDX, BMW X1, Volvo XC60 and Cadillac Escalade ESV.
