Apps available offering outdoor activities in IowaTuesday, June 18, 2013

Category:Outdoor and Recreation

Do you want to know where to find information on outdoor activities in Iowa? Well, there are apps for that.

State officials recently announced that two new mobile apps will help residents find outdoor activities. One is the Iowa State Parks & Recreation Guide, which allows users to learn more about the offerings of Iowa's many state parks and upcoming events.

The other app was developed by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and is called Health and Happy Outdoors, or H20 for short. According to the developers, the app provides its users with at least four activities at each of the 1,600 state and county parks, as well as other recreation areas. This tool would be ideal for any outdoorsy types.

"Getting people off the couch and involved in outdoor activities is a positive step in our goal of making Iowa the healthiest state in the nation," Gov. Terry Branstad told The Quad-City Times.

As the summer is soon to be in full swing, Americans will be taking to the outdoors all around the country. Those traveling long distances in their cars should look into how Husky Liners® custom fit floor mats will protect their interiors no matter what outdoor activity they decide to partake in this summer.
