To film or not to film...Thursday, August 13, 2015

Categories:Experiences & Stories, Sponsorship
To the Editor of the New York Times,

Last week I flew to London on business and I decided to go see a play. One of my favorite film actors was doing a play called Hamlet at the Barbican and I’d never heard of it so I thought it would be fun to go. During the play I decided to take a selfie video of myself watching the play. Turns out the little red light on my smartphone distracted Benedict and he had to stop his performance during the “to be or not to be” part. I didn’t realize the hub-bub at the time but I guess Benedict made a big deal of the whole thing and called it “mortifying”. My response to Benedict Cumberbatch: I wasn’t recording the play, I was recording myself enjoying the play. I’m sorry that the light was distracting. Next time I’ll put some tape over it… please don’t ask me not to record myself enjoying things. It’s 2015, I’m here enjoying life and I’m going to document myself every chance I get. Hamlet was really great by the way. Good Job.

All the best,
