Its a Season for Kleenex and ChiffonThursday, June 18, 2015

To the Editor of the New York Times,

I’m not going to lie, I wept like a baby at LeBron’s loss the other night in game 6 of the NBA finals. I am a HUGE LeBron fan. Don’t get me wrong, I’m very happy for the Golden State Warriors as they end their 40 year dry spell, but I can’t help but feel an emptiness inside for my favorite Prodigal Son. Last night as Tom brought me box after box of Kleenex I reflected on the ups and downs of the season and wondered how LeBron must be feeling right now… after all that effort to end the season without another ring on his finger must be simply crushing. The worst part of it all for me is that I had made a bet with Tom that if LeBron lost I’d wear a dress for a week. Tom was born in Oakland so he’s a big fan of the blue and gold. I don’t know what’s worse; wearing this dress, or seeing the smug look on Tom’s face? Regardless, it’s going to be a hard week ahead.

All the best,
