To the Editor of the New York Times,
The other day I was in Manhattan with my literary agent and Tom checking out a fire hydrant when the most beautiful sound of Jazz filled the air a few blocks down. While Gina and Tom were chatting, I was able to ditch them to check out this mind-blowing sound. Turned out to be an 11 year old Jazz prodigy by the name of Joey Alexander. As you all know, most dogs prefer Jazz music above all because we tend to enjoy the hyperactive complexity and randomness. There’s really nothing like a good scratch to a little up-tempo swing. Anyways, I couldn’t believe my ears! This 11 year old who smelled of Doritos and Mountain Dew was hammering the keys with the most complex and beautiful melodies. Apparently the kid started at 6, just incredible. You should all check him out. I guess I embarrassed myself a little bit because I had started to howl with the crescendo and I snapped at Tom when he tried to interrupt me.
All the best,
