2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee wins SUV challengeTuesday, July 9, 2013

The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee was recently named the winner of the Today Midsize SUV Challenge. The vehicle was pitted against five other popular sport-utility vehicles and assessed fuel efficiency, practicality, driving ability, comfort and features. The newest Grand Cherokee was chosen as the winner by experts at, USA Today, Motorweek and a family that represented the averaged midsize SUV buyer. 

"After extensive testing, the Jeep Grand Cherokee took the top spot in the Today Midsize SUV Challenge, thanks to its luxurious interior, impressive multimedia system and overall driving capability," said Patrick Olsen,'s editor-in-chief. "Jeep Grand Cherokee has long been considered a true, off-roading SUV, and thanks to some serious refinement, today's incarnation of the Grand Cherokee edges out the other, very worthy, midsize SUV options available to shoppers."

The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee totes a wide variety of safety and technology features, as well as a premium design. In addition, it  gets 30 miles to the gallon and a driving range of more than 730 miles. All the vehicles were tested on 200 miles of a variety of roads, a day of driving each vehicle on the same route and a day of testing the vehicles, assessing their family-friendly attributes.
