F.A.Q. Frequently
Asked Questions.
We are sure that in the presentation
and/or discussions with customers, the following questions could be asked
of you. We have assembled these questions in a F.A.Q. (Frequently Asked
Questions) format, in hopes that our customers will better understand
our exceptionally unique Hummer H2 Accessories that we now manufacture.
H2 Swing Away Tire Carrier
Q. What material are
these tire carriers made from?
A. The material used for the carrier is welded 3/16” steel with
a stainless steel pivot shaft, latch pin and stainless steel fasteners.
Q. What type of paint
is the carrier coated with?
A. The carrier is powder coated for years of durability, however it should
be cleaned, waxed and cared for, treating it as you would the rest of
the painted surface of your vehicle. Scratches and exposure to salt sprays
will eventually cause corrosion if not cleaned.
Q. Does the tire carrier
require lubrication?
A. No. The oil impregnated bronze bushing provides lubrication free maintenance
during normal usage, however a grease zerk is provided for additional
lubrication in severe duty applications.
Q. Will the tire carrier
hit the back of the H2?
A. No. It is equipped with stainless steel stops that limit the swing
opening.
Q. Do I need to secure
the swing arm after closing?
A. No. The latching system is a “Slam Latch” simply swing
the carrier closed and it will securely latch. Always pull on the swing
arm firmly to check that it has been firmly and securely latched.
Q. Why does the carrier
have a ergonomic handle?
A. For ease in opening and closing, instead of a pin like our competitors
have.
Q. Can I install it myself?
A. Because of the weight of the spare tire and carrier, two people are
recommended when installing. Some mechanical aptitude and familiarity
with the use of a torque wrench and drill are required.
Q. Do I need any special
tools?
A. Yes. This installation does require a few tools: socket wrench, 19mm
socket, 15mm socket, 7/16” drill bit, center punch, hammer, phillips
head screwdriver, 1/8” allen wrench, and torque wrench.
Outside Mounted Spare Tire Cover
Q. What material are the tire
covers made from?
A. ABS material.
Q. What tire size does
the covers fit?
A. They only fit the factory H2 tire size: Lt315-70R-17 or H3 tire size:
P265/75 R16 & Lt285/75-R16.
Q. Is the the tire cover
lockable for security?
A. Yes, the tire cover includes a locking mechanism to keep your tire
and rim safe from theft.
Q. Will I still be able
to use the factory tire carrier?
A. Yes our part #47130 cover for the H2/H2 SUT is compatible with the
factory spare tire carrier with the OEM tag mounted on the center of the
tire carrier as well as our part #47070 for the H3.

mounts. The H2-part #47130 surrounds the OEM tag mount around the tire.
Q. What tools will I need
for installation?
A. You will need a small flathead screwdriver and 5/16” wrench.
Q. Will the tire cover
require any special maintenance?
A. No. Once painted, only regular washing is required, treating it as
you would the rest of the painted surface of your vehicle.
Aluminum H2 Roof Racks
Q. What material are
these roof racks made from?
A. The material used is welded aluminum in a 2 piece bolt together construction.
Q. How much of a load
will the roof racks handle?

for increased load capacity, rated at 500 pounds maximum capacity for
an evenly distributed and secure load (the standard OEM cross bars are
rated at only 300 lbs).

capacity less than the Husky rack?
A. The OEM cross bars have a plastic foot retained by a formed sheet metal
hook, tightened with a hand knob. The Husky cross bar has one inch thick
aluminum feet retained by T nuts and 3/8” stainless bolts.
Q. What is the height
of the H2 with the roof rack?
A. The H2 is just under 7’3” to the top of the rack after
installation.
