Asked Questions.
We are sure that in the
presentation and/or discussions with customers, the following questions
could be asked of you. We have assembled these questions in a F.A.Q. (Frequently
Asked Questions) format, in hopes that our customers will better understand
our exceptionally unique Add-A-Vent product line that we now manufacture.
Add-A-Vent
Q. Are these Add-A-Vent products custom designed for specific
applications?
A. No. Unlike most of our products, the Add-A-Vent line can be placed
on a variety of vehicles with the only requirement being a test fit to
determine that the contour of the Add-A-Vent matches the contour of the
installation area.
Q. What material is used
for this product?
A. Automotive exterior grade ABS.
Q. Do I need any special
tools?
A. No. Add-A-Vent parts install with no-drilling required. The Add-A-Vent
comes with pre-attached 3MTM adhesive tape on the
backside for easy installation. A level or straight edge may be helpful
in order to place the parts straight and even on both sides of the vehicle.
Q. How long will Add-A-Vent
stay on my vehicle?
A. Under normal care and usage, and with proper installation Add-A-Vent
should stay adhered for the life of the vehicle.
Q. What is a proper installation?
A. Clean your vehicles installation area. Remove any dirt, debris, bugs,
tar, wax, etc. from the installation surface and make sure that this area
is dry. Then simply remove the 3MTM tape backing
and carefully press to adhere to the vehicle.
Q. What kind of care
or maintenance do these parts require?
A. You should clean your Add-A-Vent parts just like you would clean the
rest of the chrome and painted surfaces of your vehicle, by regular cleaning
and washing.
Q. Are the Add-A-Vent
parts safe to use in the high pressure car washes?
A. Yes. They are made of material similar to the grills, badge emblems
and trim that comes on your vehicle from the factory and are able to withstand
the high pressure car washes.
Q. Can the Add-A-Vent
be removed without damaging your vehicles paint?
A. Yes. Use a piece of monofilament line to saw thru the 3MTM
acrylic tape. Then simply remove the tape residue with a citrus based
cleaner and a rag.
Q. I don’t see my
vehicle listed, do you have an application?
A. We may, and it just might not be listed in the catalog you have. Check

or give us a call at 1-800-344-8759 and we can get you that information.
Our universal fit mud guards come in a large and medium size and will
fit applications that we do not cover. Medium Size Vehicles (Guard Size
9-9.75” x 15.75”). Large Size Vehicles (Guard Size 11-11.75”
x 17.63”).
Q. Do all kits have the
3MTM paint protection film, and should I use it?
A. Not all kits have paint protection film. If the mud guard mounts to
a plastic surface (a non-painted flare for example) or if the mud guard
does not wrap around the fender opening, we do not include the film. If
the film is included in your kit, you should use it as it will protect
your paint from being scuffed by the small particles of dirt/debris that
can get between the mud guard and the painted surface of the vehicle.
Q. What is your warranty?
A. Limited lifetime warranty. Winfield Consumer Products warrants its
Add-A-Vent product line to be free from defects and workmanship problems
for the life of the product, from the date of purchase, with proof of
purchase. Guaranteed not to crack or break.
Q. How are the Add-A-Vent
parts packaged for shipment?
A. All Add-A-Vent parts are UPS/RPS-able whether they are individual cartons
or master cartons. Add-A-Vent parts will be in a free standing clam shell
package with OSHA approved shelf hanger holes and packaged in individual
boxes. Add-A-Vent parts weigh 2 pounds.
The box size is as follows: (LxWxH).

Individual
cartons are 200 lb. corrugated brown kraft. All individual cartons have
a UPC bar code label on the side of the box identifying the contents.
Master cartons will be available for all Add-A-Vent parts. These master
cartons are brown kraft with blue printing. Master cartons are labeled
with part numbers and the quantity contained within the master carton.
Large shipments are generally palletized. All palletized shipments are
shrink-wrapped for security, safety, and cleanliness. Pallet sizes are
either 48" x 40" or 42" x 60" with a maximum height
of 92 inches. A numerical part number schedule is available, which lists
pallet configurations. and quantities.
