Ram Truck launches commercial truck division, as truck demand is expected to increase

Tom Libby, lead North American Forecasting analyst at Polk research firm, told the Associated Press earlier this month that he expects by the end of November, truck sales will be up as housing starts have increased throughout the country. Usually with an improved housing industry, truck sales increase because workers demand trucks to build homes.

In response to these expectations, Ram Truck recently announced that it has created a new division for commercial trucks that will focus on development, sales and support for the truck market. The new division will provide a full line of industrial-strength trucks and vans, offering exclusive pre- and post-sale solutions with BusinessLink and On the Job customer service programs.

"Ram Truck is committed to delivering the best value proposition with low total cost of ownership across the entire product lineup," said Fred Diaz, president and CEO of Ram Truck Brand and Chrysler de Mexico - Chrysler Group LLC. "From the Ram 5500 Chassis Cab to the Ram C/V, we're providing best-in-class capability and technology. We've not only taken steps to expand and improve our product offerings but created and built upon customer service solutions, following through with BusinessLink and On the Job programs for customers who use their truck as a critical tool for business."

In recent years, Ram ramped up investing in new products offering durable powertrains and new technology, as well as added features that improve the overall driving experience. One of Ram's best sellers is the 1500, receiving 25 miles to the gallon with its new V-6 engine. Any potential or current truck owners should remember to equip their truck's interior with Husky Liners® cargo floor mats, which will keep the interior carpets looking as clean as the day the truck was pulled off the lot.

Decisive Magazine recently named the 2013 Ram 1500 the Urban Truck of the Year.

"We are extremely pleased that the automotive industry continues to recognize the efforts of Ram Truck brand, and honored to receive Decisive Magazine's 2013 Urban Truck of the Year award for the new Ram 1500," Diaz added. "We've worked passionately to build durable, capable trucks with best-in-class fuel economy. Winning awards in such a fiercely competitive market resonates with our customers."
