Hyundai cleaned up at the 16th annual Strategic Vision Total Value Awards, as certain models received top honors. The Elantra, Sonata and Equus all came in first place in their respective categories.

The Elantra sedan won first in the small car category, while the Sonata and Equus took first place spots in the medium cars and luxury segment, respectively. The Equus was a significant win, considering it took the top spot from both BMW and Mercedes and it was also given the award for Best Model.

"Hyundai has increased its Innovation Factor Score by 20 points since 2008," said Alexander Edwards, president, Strategic Vision. "Today, Hyundai's like Elantra, Sonata, and Equus have some of the highest Total Value scores in the entire automotive industry."

Hyundai ranked second in Total Value out of all the automakers judged. There were more than 350 new cars that competed for awards and Hyundai received recognition for its efforts toward innovative designs and new technology offerings.

"Our 2013 lineup showcases Hyundai's philosophy behind building cars," said Mike O'Brien, vice president, Product and Corporate Planning, Hyundai Motor America. "We provide our customers with engaging, efficient vehicles packed with fun and functional technologies. We've bred this philosophy into our entire range of cars, and receiving awards in three different categories reflects our hard work and commitment to customer satisfaction and value."

Strategic Vision, a research-based consultancy company, has experience in understanding consumer decision-making processes for a number of Fortune 100 companies for the last 35 years. Scores were based by considering customer assessment of initial value and their evaluation of the complete ownership experience. Initial value was judged on total price paid by the consumer, manufacturer warranty coverage, expected trade-in value, expected affordability, expected durability and expected operating costs.

Car owners looking to keep their interiors looking the same from the initial turn of the key at the dealership and throughout the entire ownership experience should consider Husky Liners® vehicle floor mats.

Hyundai also recently reported record sales of 53,487 new vehicles during November, accounting for an increase of 7.8 percent compared to a year ago. The sales charge was led by the Sonata, selling 17,660 units, while the Elantra's November sales accounted for an increase of 28.3 percent on a year-over-year comparison.
