App helps hunters and anglers

Hunters from Georgia will be pleased to know there is now a phone application that will help them find more wildlife. The Official Georgia Fishing, Hunting & Wildlife Guide is powered by Pocket Ranger technology and was recently released by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

The app is free of charge and provides crucial information for hunters and anglers, giving novice and seasoned sportsman and outdoor enthusiasts helpful information at the palm of their hands. Features of the app include species profiles, weather information, Georgia rules and regulations, licensing information, boat ramp locations and maps of public wildlife areas.

The 2011 National Survey on Fishing, Hunting and Wildlife Associated Recreation was released in April this year, showing a 9 percent increase in hunters and an 11 percent increase in anglers compared to the previous survey conducted in 2006. With hunting, fishing and wildlife recreation becoming more popular across the nation, these individuals should consider Husky Liners® custom fit floor mats for their vehicles to protect the interior and keep unwanted mud from damaging the carpet.

The Official Georgia Fishing, Hunting & Wildlife Guide also features enhanced GPS technology helping users locate and track their friends' position, marking trails with photo waypoints and monitoring wildlife sightings.
